Eduardo Michelle Núñez, 31, is in his first full season with the Red Sox.

The Dominican Republic-born second baseman has two sons, Christopher and Oscar.

Prior to joining the Red Sox in 2017, Núñez played for the Yankees, Twins and Giants.

He originally came over to the minor leagues when he was signed by the Yankees in 2004 as an international free agent. He first played in the major leagues with the Yankees in 2010.

Núñez has appeared in 796 regular season games and has a batting average of .279 in 2,644 at bats. He has hit 289 RBIs and 56 home runs.
